Come and be a part of the 2014 Global Drupal 8 Sprint Weekend at Genuine on Saturday, Jan. 25!
Drupal 8 has been making great headway in the last few months and we’re aiming to push it further! Join us from 10 a.m. – 5 p.m. to contribute to the Drupal community and help prepare Drupal 8 for beta release. Genuine and co-sponsor, Acquia, welcomes anyone who has built a site in Drupal, including non-programmers.
We’ll kick off the day with a brief introduction and the agenda. Contributors will review Drupal 8’s issue queue and can work on core issues alone or split into pairs or small groups.
If you’ve been telling yourself for months that you’d like to contribute to the Drupal community, this is your opportunity. You’ll receive in-person mentoring from experienced sprinters and have a chance to become more familiar with Drupal 8.
First time Sprinter? Get a head start by making an account on Drupal.org and taking a look at the Drupal Ladder. If possible, install git and git clone Drupal 8 core (git instructions) before coming. OwnSourcing will also be holding sessions during the day to assist novice Sprinters with set up and answer questions.
Just bring your laptop, a charger, and an interest in Drupal contribution! After the Sprint, we’ll head out to J.J. Foley’s for some drinks.
Can’t join us physically in Boston? There will be 15 Google Hangout spots to sign into, first come, first serve. The hangout URL will be released closer to the event.
Please RSVP by Monday, Jan. 20 so we can plan for event resourcing, including building access.
Genuine is located at 500 Harrison Ave. 5R, Boston, MA 02118. Parking is available for $5 per car and is train-accessible via Broadway T stop on the Red Line.
